  • Can I come early to my appointment?
    Yes, you can arrive early for your appointment. However, we can’t guarantee that your stylist will be available before your appointment time. If you do arrive early, we welcome you to relax and enjoy some of our complimentary refreshments (tea, coffee, water).
  • What if I’m late for my appointment?
    We understand that traffic can be unpredictable, but if you are running late for your appointment, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible to ensure your stylist will have enough time to complete your scheduled services. Depending on what services are scheduled, running late for your appointment may result in shortened or cancelled service.
  • I don’t know my schedule yet; can I still book an appointment?
    We appreciate your support and understand that our stylists’ books tend to fill up quickly! We would like to remind you that our staff is considerate of your schedule and strive to achieve your hair goals at a time that works best for you! If you are uncertain of your current schedule, we ask that you wait to book your appointment and review our cancellation policy.
  • What length is my hair considered?
    Short hair meets the chin or falls above. Medium hair meets the collarbone. Long hair passes the shoulders. X-Long hair meets or passes the waist.
  • What does midshaft to ends mean?
    We use the terminology “midshaft to ends” to describe a head of hair, from new growth to the ends. Our hairs “midshaft” is commonly mistaken as “roots”. The National Library of Medicine recognizes that the hair root is in the skin and extends down to the deeper layers of the skin. It is surrounded by the hair follicle (a sheath of skin and connective tissue), which is also connected to a sebaceous gland.
  • How long does a haircut usually take?
    Depending on the length of your hair and what style you are seeking, the average haircut takes about 1 hour.
  • How long does a color usually take?
    Depending on the length of your hair and what style you are seeking, the average color takes about 2 hours.
  • How long do highlights usually take?
    Depending on the length of your hair and what style you are seeking, the average highlight can take anywhere from 1 hour and 30-minutes to 3 hours.
  • Why do I need a patch test?
    We want to protect the integrity of both your hair and skin. Patch tests are performed to ensure you don’t have any allergies or reactions to our coloring products. Patch tests are at the discretion of the stylist.
  • Why do I have to complete a color consultation?
    We require new color clients to complete a color consultation so we can match you with the right stylist, determine what steps are necessary to achieve your hair goals, figure how much time our stylists will need to complete the services, and give you an idea of how much your desired services may cost. We understand that a color consultation may seem unnecessary for simple services, but we enforce this policy to ensure the quality of your time here at Capretti & Co.
  • Why do I have to pay a deposit?
    We require deposits to reduce no-shows as they impact both our stylists and our clients. Please review our new color client policy and cancellation policy for more information.
  • What is your return policy?
    If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, you may return products within 60 days of purchase for store credit only. A receipt must be present. Makeup is not returnable. Gift certificates and services rendered are nonrefundable. No cash refunds.
  • Can I pay with an Aveda gift card at your salon?
    No, we don’t accept Aveda gift cards as payment for Aveda products or services.
  • How can I purchase a Capretti & Co. gift card?
    A Capretti & Co. gift card can be purchased in-store or over the phone. If you are purchasing the gift card for a current client, we will attach it to their account. They won’t be notified regarding the gift card purchase. We attach it to their account so they can redeem it without needing the physical gift card. If you are purchasing the gift card for a new client, we will create an account to attach it to. Like our current client procedure, they won’t be notified regarding the gift card purchase. We attach it to their account so they can redeem it without needing the physical gift card.
  • What can I purchase with a Capretti and Co. gift card?
    You can redeem your Capretti and Co. gift card for both products and services.
  • Can I bring my children to my appointment?
    We want to ensure that every guest has a relaxing experience. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the salon without full parental or guardian supervision. Please review our children policy for more information.
  • Why do service prices vary from stylist to stylist?
    Service prices vary upon the stylists level of experience. Although all of our stylists are at different points in their career, they value education and strive to elevate their skills day after day. We are confident that you will receive great service at any level.
  • Do I need to wash my hair before getting a color service?
    No, we don't recommend washing your hair before getting a color service. Natural oils help protect the scalp, especially during color services. We do ask that you don't use a root concealer the day of your hair coloring service; we cannot guarantee the results if you use a root concealer because it can interfere with color coverage.
  • Do I need to wash my hair before getting a specialty style?
    Yes, we do recommend washing your hair before getting a specialty style; freshly washed and dried hair is preferable. If extra texture is needed, we have several amazing Aveda products available to achieve a great specialty style.
  • What do I need to tell my technician before receiving a waxing service?
    Certain medications can make the skin much more sensitive than usual. In such a condition, the skin is compromised and vulnerable to becoming damaged. We cannot perform waxing services on guests using Accutane. Even if you have stopped taking Accutane, you must consult with your Doctor before receiving a waxing service. In addition, most acne medications, bleaching agents, and products containing Retin A as well as many others can cause sensitivity. Waxing may not be recommended if you are using these medications. So please consult the directions or your Doctor if you have any doubts, and tell your technician!
  • What can I do to get the best results from my waxing service?
    Waxing is most effective on hair that about 1/8 to 1/4 inches long. So let it grow! If you have booked an eyebrow wax, do not tweeze them for at least a week for optimum results.
